ASA 114 Catamaran Cruising

ANSA offers ASA 114 Catamaran cruising as a two day class with one overnight either at anchor or at a marina as circumstances permit.

We provide this course on a chartered 40 to 45′ luxury Catamaran exactly as you would charter on the Bay or anywhere in the world.

This course helps prepare you with first-hand, onboard, experiences that prepare you to skipper an auxiliary-powered sailing cruising catamaran of approximately 40 to 45 feet in length during a  liveaboard cruise upon inland or coastal waters in moderate to heavy winds (up to 30 knots) and sea conditions. Knowledge of catamaran structure, components and features, performance under sail and power, boat systems, seamanship and safety, heavy weather operation, and emergency response are included.    The course is taught on board and you will rotate between the duties and responsibilities of skipper, lookout, navigator, and crew.

This course is offered over 2 days with an overnight at anchor or at a destination marina.  There are 3 cabins available for this course which may be occupied by 1 or 2 people each.  Pricing is dependent on cabin occupancy (single or double).

Students will coordinate to provision for the sail.

PREREQUISITES:

  • ASA 104, Bareboat Coastal Cruising
